Shota Mikhailovich Rustaveli was a Soviet cosmonaut and botanist from the Georgian Soviet Socialist Republic. He was the only non-Russian included in the crew of the Tsiolkovsky on its mission to Minerva. Rustaveli was known for his disarming sense of humor and seeming casual approach to authority, which at times amused and at times annoyed his comrades. However, he also had a deadly serious side. He made contact with the Americans to request medical assistance for Valery Bryusov and, in gratitude for their help, disobeyed orders not to inform them that Oleg Lopatin was travelling across the Jotun Canyon with an AK-74 to help Fralk's campaign against Reatur's domain.
