| - Duke Alieron Mikin was the eldest of three children born to Lelara Lomasa and Athell Mikin. He is nephew to the long-widowed Athara Mikin, whom he and his siblings referred to as "Aunt Athara". About the year 615, he became a member of His Majesty's Council as Chancellor. Alieron lived on ancestral grounds of Light's Reach, inhabiting the East Bluff keep. He and his family also spent time in a summer home located in the River District just a few years before his death. Alieron was known best for his stubborn demeanor and absolute zeal for the Light. He was very firm in the traditions of the Church and well-versed in the Church lore. Shadow was not a thing tolerated by the man, in any form. His relations with his siblings were rather tense at times. The large age difference between himself and his youngest sibling - Rowena Mikin had perhaps some play in his inability to take her seriously as an active member in House politics. The two fought frequently on matters of rank, marriage, social expectations, and other familial matters. In the year 624 ATA, Alieron's faith met its match in a battle of heresy vs treason. Due to recent Shadow upsets disturbing the realm and causing overall havoc, the Emperor was left with little choice but to make a small wager with the Shadow. This did not rest well with Alieron - a man already troubled by the Shadowy trouble lurking beneath the caverns of his home land - and during a fateful rally in Mikin Hall, he revealed the Emperor's dealing to the general public, calling for Light's justice to prevail. What followed briefly thereafter was a skirmish between scourges, House guard, and Emperor's Blades. Alieron and his family were briefly detained, then Alieron himself was cast into the dungeons beneath Fastheld Keep to await sentencing. The Emperor shown mercy upon his formerly loyal Chancellor and sentenced Alieron to house arrest, for him to live out the rest of his days in his keep. Sadly, the strain of such restriction was too much for the man to bear, as was the knowledge that his Faith had failed him, or rather the Church's justice system had. Alieron died a distraught man, having hurtled himself into the cavernous torch of his keep, thereby vanishing from this Shadowed world and being consumed quite literally by the flames of Light. He left behind a wife, Merielle, and three children - the eldest of which is Sophia Mikin, married to Fael Mikin. After Alieron's death, the name of House head was passed on to the one he'd scolded many times for meddling in man's business of politics - his sister, Rowena Mikin.
