Butch Moore was an Irish singer. Having begun his music career in the late 1950s, he was an established star when he was chosen to represent his country on its debut appearance in the 1965 Contest in Naples. He finished in a respectable 6th place overall and the song went on to top the Irish charts but failed to make an impact in the UK. After his career went into decline, he moved to the US in 1970 and lived there with his wife and kids until his death from a heart attack on 3 April 2001 at the age of 63.
