  • April Fools' Day was a celebration of note on Earth, occurring on April 1st, marked by individuals playing practical jokes on one another. While discussing practical jokes with Willie Potts, who had become ill as a result of a joke played on him by his brother Jake, Beverly Crusher made the comment that "everybody's played a practical joke on somebody." Willie, however, insisted that he never did, not even on April Fools'. Beverly couldn't believe that he had never "pulled something" on April Fools' Day, to which Willie replied: "What for? It's never funny to the one getting fooled." (TNG: "Brothers" )

  • The Ace Combat series is no stranger to April Fools' Day, and both Bandai Namco and Project Aces have partaken in the tradition.
  • TYPE-MOON has created a yearly April Fools' Day parody website each year since 2005.

  • A long time ago, April 1st was the start of the new year, and after it was officially changed to January 1st, people who still celebrated at the old date were dubbed "April Fools". Or possibly the term originally referred to people who prematurely celebrated the start of summer (which was traditionally May Day, May 1, in many ancient cultures); the exact origin is unclear. Regardless of where the term originated, it has since become something much sillier.
  • Each year on April Fools' Day, some very interesting features appear in the mod: * Every NPC is named "Gandalf." (In the case of Gollum, he is named "Gandalf, the Gollum") * The Hobbits grow to about four blocks high. * The shrink to about half a block high. * Horses look like donkeys. * Every faction is named either "Yes Scotland" or "No Scotland." * Rabbits will continuously spin their bodies around like General Grievous' wheel. * Spears will look like giant wild boar whilst thrown on the ground. * Dwarves spawn upside-down and are stuck in the ground. * Wargs bodies are tilted. Looks like they have problems with their center of balance. * Trolls are all green (like Shrek). Mirk-trolls look sickly green. * Alchoholic beverages are called "Hooch."
  • April Fools' Day or All Fools' Day although not a holiday in its own right, is a notable day celebrated in many countries on April 1. The day is marked by the commission of hoaxes and other practical jokes of varying sophistication on friends, enemies and neighbors, or sending them on fools' errands, the aim of which is to embarrass the gullible. Traditionally, in some countries, the jokes only last until noon. If you play a trick on someone after this time you are the April Fool. Elsewhere, for example in France, the jokes may last all day.
  • Both Sonic the Comic and Sonic the Comic Online have joined in on the festivities on occasion: * Issue 22 (1995) - In the Control Zone, Megadroid announces that there will be a live-action Sonic movie, with major stars like Tom Cruise, Jack Nicholson and Dustin Hoffman lining up to play Sonic the Hedgehog. * Issue 75 (1997) - The cover ("Sonic Groom") suggests that Sonic and Amy Rose are to get married. The Control Zone also introduces new character Chickles. * Issue 100 (1998) - The date is mentioned but there are no tricks. * Issue 230 (2004) - Megadroid avoids a carefully-balanced bucket of water atop a door and claims his revenge by pouring shampoo in the Humes' drinks. * Shadow the Comic (2005) - Shadow the Hedgehog replaces Sonic on the cover of Sonic the Comic
  • April Fools' Day was a holiday celebrated on 1 April. On this day it was customary for people to play practical jokes and hoaxes on one another. On 1 April 1963, Ian Chesterton sent one of his Coal Hill School students, Little Titch Critchley, to the supplies cupboard for "a left-handed blackboard rubber". Later that morning, Ian started a snowball fight with Mr Okehurst, shouting, "April fool!" That afternoon, when John Brent tried to tell his father about the snowmen which had been animated by the Cold, Captain Brent thought his son was playing an April Fools' joke.
