Gailord J Gordon 1936 - 2014 Gailord Gordon, a well known industry veteran, passed away on June 11, 2014 at the age of 78. (photo Gailord 1) Gailord had been the Chief of the Kaiser Permanente Clinical Engineering Program in Berkeley, California until he retired in 1995. Previously, he had held positions with Wishard Memorial Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana, and with Kaiser Southern California Region. He retired from the US Army in 1976. Gailord is survived by his wife, Christa, one son and one daughter, and three grandchildren.

(photo Gailord 1) Gailord had been the Chief of the Kaiser Permanente Clinical Engineering Program in Berkeley, California until he retired in 1995. Previously, he had held positions with Wishard Memorial Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana, and with Kaiser Southern California Region. He retired from the US Army in 1976. Gailord was certified as a Clinical Engineer by the AAMI-sponsored program in 1976 and again in 1984 by the International Certification Commission for Clinical Engineering and Biomedical Technology. His certificate, number 71, was signed by Alf Dolan and Bill Betts. He was very active in the profession, later serving as an examiner in the professional certification programs. He also mentored many biomedical professionals. .... would like more input here .... In 1995 he published the book, Breakthrough Management: A New Model for Technical Services ... which was published by AAMI, 3330 Washinton Blvd, Suite 400, Arlington, VA 22201-4598. Gailord is survived by his wife, Christa, one son and one daughter, and three grandchildren.
