- The Age of Heroes, an era during the history of Westeros which takes its name from the great men and women who lived in the years of peace that followed the forging of the Pact, to which many noble houses trace their family histories and many stories, songs, and legends are told about. During this time period, a hundred kingdoms rose and fell. This era serves as a huge basis for the tradition and culture of Westeros, such as the laws of hopitality, the builidng of The Wall and the obligation of the judge to be executioner, in the North, where the culture of the First Men is the strongest in all Westeros. Many legendary kings and warriors are said to have lived in this time, such as:
* Brandon Stark, The Builder: the most important of all Stark in history, the stories told he is the builder of Winterfell and The Wall. It is said he is also the builder of Storm's End and the founder of House Stark.
* Lann the Clever: the founder of House Lannister. It is credited to him the swindle of Casterly Rock from the House Casterly.
* The Grey King: a legendary King of Salt and Rock, who supposedly wed a mermaid and became the king of the Sunset Sea.
* Azor Ahai: a legendary warrior who said to be lived during The Long Night, he was the chief commander of men against the Others. He was the wielder of Lightbringer and are believed to reborn as The prince that was promised.
