The Sukhoi Design Bureau, abbreviated SDB, or simply Sukhoi, was a corporation that designed starfighters, including fighters, bombers, transports, and other classes. Founded during the Galactic Civil War, it primarily worked for the Galactic Empire. However, following it's defeat, Sukhoi sold fighters to many different governments, including the Imperial Remnant, New Republic, Galactic Federation of Free Alliances, and much later, the Fel Empire and the Union of Socialist System Republics.

However, following it's defeat, Sukhoi sold fighters to many different governments, including the Imperial Remnant, New Republic, Galactic Federation of Free Alliances, and much later, the Fel Empire and the Union of Socialist System Republics. It was founded by Yakov Sukhoi, a talented pilot of the Imperial Army Aviation. After retiring from his position as a Colonel General, Yakov began to lead his company full time. He hired other former Imperial Armed Forces aces, such as Meiji Volkov and Vukovich.
