USS Muir (DE-770) was a Cannon-class destroyer escort built for the United States Navy during World War II. She served in the Atlantic Ocean and provided escort service against submarine and air attack for Navy vessels and convoys. She was named in honor of Kenneth Hart Muir who was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart and the Navy Cross for his "outstanding courage and unselfish devotion to his men" when he went down with his ship after getting his men off before it went down.
