  • The Guardian Troll is an unnamed character that appeared in the cartoon show episode "The Fountain Of Smurf". He guards the Fountain Of Youth from anybody who isn't willing to take a sample of its waters without giving him something valuable in exchange. When the Smurfs visited the fountain and tried to take some of its waters as a gift for Papa Smurf, the troll stopped them from doing so initially, preferring to take one of Papa Smurf's books as an equitable trade. When the Smurfs came back to the fountain to get the book back from the troll, the troll refused to give it back, nor to allow them to escape, which required a bit of trickery on Jokey's part with one of his "surprises." Eventually the Smurfs came back a third time with Gargamel briefly joining them so that he will deal with the troll while they got the book back. During Gargamel's confrontation with the troll, both he and the troll ran straight into the waters of the Fountain Of Youth and then came back out as younger versions of themselves, with the troll still chasing after Gargamel while the Smurfs escaped.
