| - The Allied Forces of Altana was an alliance of The Kingdom of San d'Oria, The Republic of Bastok, The Federation of Windurst, and The Grand Duchy of Jeuno, in response to the aggression by the Beastman Confederate during the Crystal War. It was established by Archduke Kam'lanaut and the Armathrwn Society to unite the nations of the Middle Lands against impending devastation, under the banner of the goddess Altana. The nations obtained aid from allies such as the Marquisate of Tavnazia and volunteers from the continent of Olzhirya, though the Empire of Aht Urhgan refused all requests for aid in the conflict. Some of the military divisions such as the Cobra Unit, Seventh Cohors, and Knights of the Iron Ram began to enlist volunteers and mercenaries to fill their ranks. Despite heavy losses during the siege of Windurst, the Battle of Jeuno, and the catastrophic siege of Tavnazia, the tide began to turn and the individual beastmen forces began to lose confidence and abandoned the war effort. A group of champions stormed Castle Zvahl, and the leader of the Beastman Confederate, the Shadow Lord, was slain, effectively ending the great conflict.

For the first time in Vana'diels' history, each nation stood united as one. Eventually through the joint efforts the Alliance triumphed over the Beastmen hordes. However the victory came at a high price, along with death of thousands of allied troops, the city of Tavnazia suffered total destruction from an orcish bomb of unprecedented power. The blast was so powerful the peninsular on which the city was placed became detached from the mainland, resulting in the remaining nations being unable to mount a rescue effort. Everyone in Tavnazia is assumed to have perished.
