The Light type (created by many fans; adapted by Marcyfan999) is one of the 21 types. It was introduced in Pokemon WholeOrange and UltraViolet when Professor Palm asks the player if he/she has heard of the light type. It is a fairly weak type offensively, being strong against only two types (one of which it is also weak to), resisted by four, and unable to affect one. This parallels light's lack of strength in real life. Light-type Pokemon have high speed and accuracy, and many can blind other Pokemon, a new status effect that can cause the victim to miss its target or hit another one (in case of a double/triple/full team battle). They are also immune to this condition themselves.
