Walter Gotell (March 15, 1924 - May 5, 1997) is a German-Britsh actor in both movies and television. While he appeared in the show Miami Vice as Max Klizer, gun supplier in the episode "When Irish Eyes Are Crying", he is best known for playing James Bond's enemy General Gogol, head of the KGB in six Bond movies, from 1977's The Spy Who Loved Me until 1987's The Living Daylights.

He died on 5 May 1997 from cancer at the age of 73.

He played Chief Constable Cullen inSoftly, Softly: Taskforce (1969–75). Gotell was a businessman as well as an actor, and used his acting salaries to fund his business interests. He had one daughter, Carol, born in 1960. He died on 5 May 1997 from cancer at the age of 73.
