Tom Parkes is a defender who initially joined Rovers on a month-long loan deal from Leicester City in February 2012. He was brought in to fill a hole in an injury-ravaged defensive line and to play alongside his fellow on-loan Leicester teammate Cian Bolger in a very young central defensive pairing. Despite their tender years, manager Mark McGhee was happy playing the pair together as they had both come though The Foxes' youth system and had been competing alongside each other for several years.

| - Tom Parkes is a defender who initially joined Rovers on a month-long loan deal from Leicester City in February 2012. He was thrown straight into the starting lineup upon his arrival, and remained in the eleven throughout his initial month-long spell. Leicester agreed to the loan being extended to the end of the 2011–12 season and he continued to put in a number solid performances, making 14 appearances in all by the time he left the club in the summer. Such was the impression that he made on McGhee, he was brought to The Gas permanently shortly after the start of the 2012–13 season. He was brought in on a short-term loan at the beginning of the deal so that he could play while his medical was still pending.
