The Uzzgerazanlak-class utility cargo transport was a transport designed for local cargo transport. The class was based on the Utility Tug which was made by Nicholas/Gordon Spacewerks. The Uzzgerazanlak was released in 1,033 ABY alongsider her bigger sister the Azanlak-class cargo transport. Both of the classes were not successful upon release, because at this time freight companies and the Imperial Navy and the Imperial Merchant Navy were more interested on large freighters like the Delivery-class freighter.

abstract
  • The Uzzgerazanlak-class utility cargo transport was a transport designed for local cargo transport. Bregaran Imperial Shipyards was ready to pull both classes as flops but the chairman took a gamble on the low price tags coupled with adverts to eventually bring about interest. The gamble paid off, eventually freight companies didnt want to or couldnt spend money on new large freighter all the time so started looking for cheaper alternatives. The found the Uzzgerazanlak and Azanlak-classes good choices. The Azanlak was used to transport cargo between systems whilst the Uzzgerazanlak was used to transport cargo locally, as in between planets and ships, they were also carried on larger freighters for transporting cargo between ships. As with Azanlak the Imperial Navy and Imperial Merchant Navy heard about there reliability and cheap price tag so they bought huge numbers and bought a licence to build them. As the Uzzgerazanlak didnt have a hyperdrive she was unable to travel between star systems, so they were used for local cargo transport and armed models were used as system patrol craft for patrolling the star systems they were assigned to. They were also carried aboard larger freighters for taking cargo to the surface of planets and for transporting cargo between freighters.
