He played junior hockey for the Fort William Canadiens (a Montreal Canadiens' farm team) from 1951 to 1955. In 1955-56 he turned pro with the Cincinnati Mohawks and then played for two more seasons in the Canadiens' system. In 1958 he was claimed by the Detroit Red Wings. Marcon split two seasons between Detroit and the Edmonton Flyers and played for the Flyers until 1963, when they folded. He played one more game for Detroit in 1962-63.
