Gobindi was an Outer Rim planet in the Noonian sector, with an Imperial bioweapons lab. Siblings Zak and Tash Arranda visited the planet seeking medical aid after Zak contracted a stomach virus. Zak was taken to the hospital and treated. While Tash and her droid DV-9 went for a walk, they encountered a blob, unaware it was hostile until it lunged at them and almost crushed the droid. This was their first encounter with the blob, one of the experiments in Borborygmus Gog's Project Starscream. The planet was the source of Influenza necrosi.

- The Gobindi were an alien race native to the planet Gobindi, though they were extinct long before the Battle of Yavin. The Gobindi were master architects, and built huge ziggurats in the deep jungles of the planet. While many of the stepped pyramids had rooms and passageways, several were completely solid. It was these ziggurats which were built to contain the deadly viruses the Gobindi discovered in the jungles. They were wiped out by one such virus, known as the Gobindi virus, but not before they discovered a way to cure it. In their dying actions, they carved the formula for the antidote into the ziggurat's walls.
