Shibaura is the brand name used by IHI Shibaura Machinery Corp (ISM), formerly Ishikawajima Shibaura Machinery Co, of Tokyo, Japan. It was formed in 1950 by Toshiba Corp (Tokyo-Shibaura-Engineering) and IHI (Ishikawajima Harima Industries). Shibaura manufactures tractors, lawn care (turf) equipment, generators and small engines. They formerly manufactured various outdoor power equipment such as blowers, trimmers, brush cutters, etc... After 30 years in the outdoor power equipment business, Shibaura discontinued in 2008. Some of Shibaura's turf care products, such as the front-mount zero turn mowers, have been sold in the USA as the Hustler brand, a brand of Excel Industries of Hesston, Kansas. They have long supplied Ford and later New Holland with lawn care and compact/utility tractors.
