They played in the Eastern League through 1947-48. The league took a break in the 1948-49 season. The Rovers played in the Quebec Senior Hockey League in 1947-48 and 1948-49. The Eastern League restarted in 1949-50. The Rovers folded in 1952 because of a dispute over television rights. The team couldn't sell the rights and could not afford to go on. The team was briefly ressurected in 1959 playing in the Long Island Arena. The Rovers changed their name to the Long Island Ducks in 1961.
