Egwene is determined to go to the Waste so the others have to decide what they will do. Elayne and Nynaeve decide to go to Tanchico to hunt the Black Ajah. Egwene promises to meet them in tel'aran'rhiod since they will be able to use the Twisted stone ring. There, she can teach them what she learns. Moiraine enters and announces that Joiya and Amico are dead. Nynaeve gives the decision to Moiraine that she and Elayne will go to Tanchico while Egwene and Aviendha go to Cold Rocks hold in the Waste. Aviendha starts trying to find alternatives to going herself, suggesting other Maidens that could accompany Egwene. Moiraine takes out a letter she just received from Amys, Bair, Melaine and Seana. The letter was addressed to her a month ago in the Stone, before the party reached even reached Tear. The Wise Ones say that Aviendha must come to Rhuidean. Moiraine also tells of an Atha'an Miere ship at the docks in Tear which would be ideal for a sea voyage to Tanchico. Elayne ponders what Rand will do when she tells him she is leaving for Tanchico.
