Shyaam aMbul aNgoong → Portuguese. Shyaam aMbul aNgoong (also spelled Shyaam a-Mbul a Ngoong-Shyaam) was the founder of the Bushoong ruling dynasty of the Kuba kingdom of Central Africa sometime around 1625. It is said that he taught mancala to his people to encourage foresight and calculation. His "ndop" (emblem representing his spirit) is a three-row mancala board, of which a famous wooden carving is kept in the British Museum in London. The game could be related to Imbelece.
