Ganglionic Intelligence was an extremely rare type of intelligence among species in the galaxy. Most beings believed that this referred to a hive mind, but it was actually very different. It had what was called compartmentalized consciousness. This meant that there was one central intelligence, connected to which were many sub-intelligences, all collecting information separately from the central intelligence. One species known to have ganglionic intelligence was the Cephalon.
