Samuel Weiss is a sound technician at Warner Bros., and a resident of Winnetka Avenue in Los Angeles. In 1987, Weiss purchased a Mark IV Series 80 Colt .45 from a gun shop on Northridge Avenue after receiving threatening phone calls, but the weapon was subsequently stolen in a burglary on 2 June 1988. Weiss was later interviewed in May of 2005 by LAPD cold-case detectives Kizmin Rider and Harry Bosch concerning the use of his missing weapon in a 1988 murder.
