Beorn's dogs were four large, grey dogs who could walk on their hind legs. They had the duty of setting the table in his house, having the ability to carry things with their forepaws and speaking. It is unknown where exactly they came from, but they seemed to have their own language, as Beorn could speak to them in a tongue that seemed like "barks twisted into speech." They possibly resembled some type of sled dog.
