He retired from the U.S. Navy in October 2010, served as a Presidential Appointee for two years as the Associate Deputy Secretary of Energy., and effective April 2013 serves as the inaugural Senior Associate Dean, Military and Veterans Initiatives at the George Washington University (GW). Dean Williams works closely with GW senior leadership, students, alumni, and other affiliated stakeholders of the university to provide vision, strategic, operational leadership, and day-to-day management of the University wide stakeholders regarding Military and Veterans Initiatives.
