The season ran from June 1 to November 30, with a total of thirty-five tropical depressions, twenty-seven named storms, seventeen hurricanes, including ten major hurricanes; five calculated to reach the Category 5 ranking, and four of those five making landfall, including Hurricane King, which earned the title "King of all Hurricanes," after post-analysis was conducted by the NHC at the conclusion of the season.
