Wayne was a thug who, alongside friend Marco grew a cannabis farm in the abandoned Wylies Farm, at the time owned by Emma Barton. Her sons Ross and Finn discover the farm in one of the rooms and Ross confronts them. Wayne isn't scared by Ross and arms himself with a baseball bat, but the pair are frightened off when Finn pretends to be a police officer raiding the farm. Later that month, Marco and Wayne kidnap Finn and attempt to kidnap Ross. Thinking Emma's car (being driven by Harriet Finch) had the cannabis plants inside, Marco and Wayne went into pursuit. Harriet stops at temporary traffic lights and Marco drives into the back of Harriet's car. A struggle ensues when Marco demands the boot is opened and Harriet knees him between the legs.
