After being turned away by his father, the Sultan, Jafar is taken in by a blacksmith who works in the local market of Agrabah. Jafar works for the blacksmith, but one day the marketplace is visited by a sorceress named Amara, one of which is feared by all the citizens of the kingdom. Jafar is impressed by her ways though, and so he finds her later on and asks to be trained in the art of magic.
