| - Earth was the third planet of the Sol system in the Milky Way galaxy; a neighboring galaxy of the Star Wars galaxy. It was "discovered" in 11 ABY by a traveling fleet of Imperial Star Destroyers, part of the Imperial Remnant, who had wandered from the Unknown Regions into the Milky Way galaxy. The planet was sprawling with cities much like those on Coruscant, though they had yet to cover the entire planet. The planet was rich in natural resources and was suspected to be the homeworld of the Human species, the only sentient species on the planet. The Remnant was immediately interested in subjugating the planet and using it as a base to strike back at the newly formed New Republic. The Imperial invasion did not go over well with the Earthlings, however, and the occupants of the planet launched a counter attack of their own, sparking the Terran War. The war lasted two years, resulting in a stalemate. The Imperials retreated to other worlds in the Sol system and formed colonies while they awaited reinforcements. Their transmissions were received by a Super Star Destroyer, the Domination, carrying some of Emperor Palpatine's Sith acolytes and Saber Guards. Upon the ship's arrival, the Second Terran War began, resulting in the loss of the Terran Alliance, and the subjugation of Earth. In 20 ABY, the fleets stationed in the Sol system, unaware of the Pellaeon-Gavrisom Treaty that had taken place a year earlier in their galaxy, launched an attack on the New Republic from their new base. The New Republic easily pushed the Empire back and decimated enough of their forces to allow the Humans on Earth to stage a revolt; the Third Terran War. The war only lasted one year, but the Terran Alliance managed to end the Imperial occupation of Earth and force what was left of their forces to return to their own galaxy. However, the influence of the Imperials would last for decades. The Sith acolytes that had come with them remained on Earth, and hid their true identities, restoring the Sith Order in secret for the day they would strike again.
