The RG170B features a mahogany body bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot position markers. Components include a synchronized tremolo bridge, Ibanez pickups in an HSH configuration and black hardware. The RG175B is a similar model with a maple fretboard and a pickguard. The RG172B is another related model with an ash body and without the middle pickup. The RG170B was available only in Japan and was discontinued after a single year of production.
