| - --Oluchi, to Sheva and Josh regarding the tribesman and women of the African caves. Silent Caverns (Also known as the Caves of Silence, Mouth of the Devil, the Labyrinth, Caves of No Return, etc.) are a large group of labyrinthine caves situated far outside of the village of East Zahani. The caves consist primarily of thick, aged limestone strata capped by a layer of sandstone, making the ancient structures remarkably stable, even in the passing centuries of heavy rainfall. Though not completely explored, it is believed to include more than 700 miles of passageway.

Although it is known for its beauty, it is also feared by the villagers because of its dangers. It is called the Silent Caverns given the fact that many have gotten lost inside and are never to return, nor are their screams for help even heard. Not much information has been retrieved of these caves except by Alex and his group. He sent his men to explore them based on the legends that drifted around the village people regarding the "dangerous secrets" the caves held. It is believed by those who live nearby that the caves are cursed by the damned and the lost souls who had wandered alone into them. Some even believe that the caves "speak" to them. It is also there that Alex met with mild resistance when he planned to explore them with his staff and soldiers. He was interested and felt that they had plenty to hide from him. He used their fear of the caves to his advantage by offering to "ease their terror" by giving them food, money and work as well as a "release from their cruel, unjust lives". The caves were explored at about 633 miles deep until Alex's men came across what remained of the temples, statues and housing structures of the civilization who had lived within the caves; the writing was as old as early Cuneiform and despite their age, still remained intact. It is also the location where Alex uncovered the Ancient Text Scrap perfectly preserved in the stone to which he translated and became inspired to use as the base for his New World. Remember this: "A bazooka in the hands of a woman PMS'ing can cause mass mayhem in a zombie apocalypse." --Queen-of-the-Living-Dead 02:04, September 19, 2011 (UTC)
