The 2016-17 Antarctic Cyclone Season is a current event in the Southern Ocean basin. The season will officially begin on November 1 and will end on March 30, dates that typically delimit the start and end of the season, however polar cyclone formation is possible anytime of the year, as shown by Polar Cyclone Anthony which formed almost 2 months before the official start of the season.
