The Battle Sphere is a tank-like rolling sphere, manned by a single pilot, that had turrets on either side. It was designed by Orbis Labs and is possibly a forerunner for the Chozo Morph Ball. It is intended to enable soldiers to maneuver rugged landscapes and small entry points with ease. The Battle Sphere would have replaced tanks, hovercrafts and single-person transportation vehicles if completed. Samantha Manus found that if the Battle Sphere was to be completed, then the current male soldier is physically too large. : Non-canonical information ends here.

The idea behind it is similar to the ARC Armor also developed by the Fantastic Research Inc. team. The sphere was built utilizing advanced and proprietary technology. A user can have one or multiple battle spheres. When activated, the sphere breaks into small curved plates that attach themselves to the user. They assimilate and combine with each other to create a cohesive battle suit with which the person can move around as though it were simply another layer of skin. The base capabilities of a Battle Sphere is increased when more than one are utilized on a person. It is exponential, and does not merely double for two, or triple for three and so on. As of 18 ACI, the highest number of Battle Spheres that anyone has utilized at any given point in time was five. It gave the person roughly 8.29 times what a normal Battle Sphere gave. It is created out of a specialized metal alloy.
