Mudhogs are a pig-like sentient species who live underground on Third Earth. They resemble warthogs in appearance and even possess two short tusks. They communicate with each other through snorting. They are ruled by the Mudhog King. Mudhogs use crude spears as weapons. However, their main method of capturing victims is by ambushing them from below. They emerge from small holes in the ground, grab any unsupecting victim's legs and drag him or her underground to their lair. They do have a weakness, however. Because they live underground, Mudhogs are easily blinded by bright lights.

Because they live underground, Mudhogs are easily blinded by bright lights. They take whatever valuables their victims might have and then tie them in such a way that their heads stick out of the holes in the ground. The victims are then left at the mercy of the vultures circling above. They once captured Quick Pick and Mandora, intending to feed them to the vultures. However, Lion-O and the Thundercats arrived in time to stop them and save the captives.
