To accomplish this, the Americans launch a large amount of Nuclear weapons at the Reich and their allies, while initiating an amphibious invasion of mainland europe. Of course, the Reich sees the missiles inbound and retaliates. Many cities, such as Hamburg, Berlin, New York, Washington D.C., Boston, Paris, London, and Rome, are destroyed by nuclear weapons, and Europe is devastated as the American invaders and the Reich each use tactical nuclear wapons to drive each other off. even the Soviets join in, launching what few weapons they have at targets within Western Europe, while invading former Russian territory. In the end, the U.S.A. comes out the least damaged, as they are a large nation, but they still are greatly hurt by the destruction and the nuclear winter that followed. The Germans by far came out the worst, as their empire was brought crashing down around them in Nuclear Fire. The other nations of western Europe were little better, as they were also targeted by nuclear weapons, and suffered from the fallout that resulted. The world started recovering, but slowly. Much of Europe is still a burned out nuclear wasteland, and civilization there has been sent back nearly 300 years, as technology was lost as people struggled to survive. The "winners' if they could be called that, are China and South America. They managed to stay out of the nuclear war, and were able to expand into territory that was not contaminated. America is slowly recovering, but it is no position to be a world leader any time soon, as they are more focused on their internal recovery. The world is slowly recovering, but it will be a long time before it can be restored to a state before the crisis of 1961.Only time will tell what this new world will turn out to be.
