In the Japanese original, Loqua was called rum (an appropriately pirate-themed drink), and was never implied to be non-alcoholic or "juice". Gordo's "Loqua Spray" attack is called "Vodka Chug", etc. The change to Loqua was made in localization. * * Fixed the WMG title so it's clearer. It's not a WMG in Japanese, but the localization kinda tries to hide it. Barely.
