  • (The Disneycember logo is shown, before showing clips from The Three Caballeros) Doug (vo): Three Caballeros is probably much better known than Saludos Amigos. But to be fair, they're not that much different. True in comparing the two, there does seem to be a lot more passion thrown into this one. It's longer, there's more energy, and as far as the basic cartoon animation goes, this is some of their best. I mean, the motion and the line work just leaps off the screen sometimes. Look at how fast they're going. Panchito: [Singing] Through fair and stormy weather...
  • Produced as part of the studio's goodwill message for South America, but less obviously propagandistic, the film again starred Donald Duck, who in the course of the film is joined by his old friend José Carioca, the cigar-smoking parrot from Saludos Amigos representing Brazil, and later makes a new friend in the persona of pistol-packin' rooster Panchito, representing Mexico. Several Latin American stars of the period appear, including singers Aurora Miranda (sister of Carmen Miranda) and Dora Luz, as well as dancer Carmen Molina.
  • The Three Caballeros is a 1944 American animated musical film produced by Walt Disney Productions. The film premiered in Mexico City on December 21, 1944. It was released in the United States on February 3, 1945 and in the UK that March. The seventh animated feature in the Disney Animated Canon, as well as the first Disney canon to be a sequel (to Saludos Amigos), the film plots an adventure through parts of Latin America, combining live-action and animation. It is the second of the Disney package films of the 1940s.
  • The film is plotted as a series of self-contained segments, strung together by the device of Donald Duck opening birthday gifts from his Latin American friends. Several Latin American stars of the period appear, including singers Aurora Miranda (sister of Carmen Miranda) and Dora Luz, as well as singer and dancer Carmen Molina. It was severely edited and re-released in featurette form on April 15, 1977 to accompany a re-issue of 1968's Never a Dull Moment.
  • We're three happy chappies With snappy serapes You'll find us beneath our sombreros We're brave and we'll stay so We're bright as a peso Alvin: Who says so? The Chipmunks: We say so, the three caballeros Ay, ay, ay, ayyy! We have the stars to guide us Guitars here beside us To play as we go We sing and we samba We shout: "¡Ay caramba!" Theodore: What means: "¿Ay caramba?" Oh yes, I don't know The Chipmunks: Oh, oh, oh, ohhh! Through fair and stormy weather We stand close together Like books on a shelf As pals though we may be When some Latin baby Says yes, no, or maybe Each man is for himself!
