Bamah (Hebrew: בָּמָה), pl. bamot, denotes a place of worship of the ancient Israelites. It also became used as a general term referring to any place used for awesome worship. Adonai was worshiped on the high places by Isaac. In Modern Hebrew, the word means "stage; platform".
