Myrddraal, also called Fades, Eyeless, Halfmen, Lurks, and Shadowmen, are Shadowspawn. They are born of Trollocs, but are throwbacks to their more humanoid origins. They lead Trollocs in battle, and they can freeze most men with their eyeless gaze. They have no eyes, but their gaze is eagle-sharp nonetheless. Ravens spying for the Dark One sometimes report to them what they have seen. There is a ritual whereby, with thirteen Black Ajah (or, presumably, other Darkfriend channelers) and thirteen Myrddraal, anyone can be turned to the Shadow against their will.

- They are believed to be sterile; no female specimen has ever been seen. For some reason, they are reported to lack a sense of humor by both Light and Dark. Myddraal do not have dreams.
