| - Central Boiler, established in 1984 and located near Greenbush, Minnesota, is the leading manufacturer of outdoor wood, wood pellet and corn furnaces in Northern America. Over the years, Central Boiler has developed new ways to improve quality, workmanship and efficiencies which have created superior outdoor furnaces. In the mid-1980s, Dennis Brazier founded Central Boiler in his hometown of Greenbush, located in northwestern Minnesota. Based on a personal desire to create safer and more efficient heating products, the company's designs and patents have established Central Boiler as a leader in product quality, design, and innovation. The company's philosophy centers on two principles: (1) manufacture the best; and (2) always strive to make it better. This uncompromising attitude is at the core of the company's growth. The company has a sales and dealer network that has now established itself throughout the United States and Canada. Central Boiler remains a privately held corporation. Since 1991, Central Boiler has grown from a 25,000 square foot facility to over a 240,000 square foot manufacturing facility. Central Boiler’s employment also continues to grow. A Central Boiler outdoor furnace is located outside of the home or business and works with an existing heating system. A water jacket surrounds the furnace firebox and heat exchangers and heated water is circulated to the home or building through insulated underground pipes. Water-to-air or water-to-water heat exchangers or direct circulation conveys the heat into the structure’s forced-air furnace, boiler or radiant floor heating system. This allows for normal thermostatic control of heat and the ability to heat multiple buildings and domestic water. In early 2007, Central Boiler signed a [www.epa.gov/owhh/partners.htm partnership agreement] with the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to promote the manufacture and sale of cleaner outdoor wood furnaces. Central Boiler was the first to have an outdoor wood furnace qualify for the EPA program[1]. Central Boiler also developed the E-Classic 2300 model, which qualified for the EPA Outdoor Wood-fired Hydronic Heater (OWHH) Program. The EPA stated, “In fact, the unit meets the performance level of 0.32 lbs/million Btu heat output that has been established in Phase 2 of the Northeast States for Coordinated Air Use Management’s Model Rule.” The Central Boiler E-Classic was the first to be certified by the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation Air Pollution Control Division and also meets the 2010 Clean Air Regulation Emission Limits for Vermont and Maine. In 2008, the Maine Department of Environmental Protection Bureau of Air Quality annouced that Central Boiler's Maxim outdoor wood pellet and corn furnace has been approved to meet Phase II of Maine's rule regarding outdoor wood boilers, making it the first approved in Maine. The Maxim also meets the 2010 Clean Air Regulation Emission Limits for Maine.
