Crown molding was a type of decorative trim used on building interiors. The Palace Theater in Chicago had detailed crown molding. Tom Paris pointed it out to B'Elanna Torres in 2377 just before they began to watch Revenge of the Creature in a holographic recreation of the theater. (VOY: "Repression")
