Bunzo were a strange, trioptic species of unknown intelligence whose body curls around itself in a unique way. It is closely related to the Orlops, indicating that it must have originated on the planet Cattor as well, where they were certainly found to exist when discovered by the Screebles. However, since Cattor and, indeed, the entire Galvopa System has apparently turned up missing, it is considered extinct.

- In 1995, their world was invaded by Joe Musashi who was on the run from the Four Elements and the Yakuza. Bunzo was ordered to subdue a smothered Musashi, punching him in the face so that he fell unconscious. When the mistake was cleared up, Bunzo was soon ordered to post sentinels at the town's boundaries to warn of the arrival of the Yakuza. In the first battle, Bunzo spent much of his time dealing with the inept Yakuza, using his bo-staff to smack them over the head. In the finale, Bunzo spent much of his time battling with Water, although couldn't break through with a decisive victory. Observing that his sensei was struggling against Fire, Bunzo used a burst of magic to push Water into Fire's body, their powers reacting and killing them both.
- Bunzo was a brother monk of the Shinmaki Shinseist at the Temple of Ebisu. One day, he found a feral girl fully corrupted by the taint. From his experience, he decided it best to kill her, but the magistrate with him refused to kill her. A few days later a young, arrogant shugenja arrived and became interested in the child in the cage. He decided to show her mercy and bring her home with him, much to the tainted girl's delight. Bunzo gathered villagers who would listen to his warnings and took them from the village. That night, the shugenja went mad and burned down the village with maho and then destroyed himself. Bunzo returned a few weeks later, and now waits for tsukai-sagasu to help him destroy the girl.
