The slayer helmet is an All-class item, which means its armour stat is used in full when defending against any style. It can also be used as an enchanted gem. With 20 Summoning, it can be enchanted to store up to 500 summoning scrolls by speaking with Pikkupstix in Taverley. (Note that only combat scrolls can be stored within the helm.) For 500 slayer reward points (or 50 points any time after first purchased), players can upgrade the helmet to fuse rings of slaying and ferocious rings, gaining some of the benefits of both.

For example, using a ferocious ring with 5 charges on a fused slayer helmet that has 27 charges ferocious ring charges already will result in 3 charges being added to the helmet and 2 charges remaining on the ring. Fused slayer helmets benefit from the ferocious ring damage boost. Fused slayer helmets can also be recharged with co-op points.

abstract
| - The slayer helmet is an All-class item, which means its armour stat is used in full when defending against any style. For 4000 loyalty points, players can buy the ability to change the colour of their slayer helmet, and this works for all variations of slayer helmets except the most basic slayer helmet. By using the helmet on Xuan or Dilwyn, it can be recoloured to the colours blue, yellow, red, and green. Recolouring the full slayer helmet also changes the colour of the backplate to pastel pink. This ability cannot be refunded, but once bought, players can change the colour of their helmet as many times as they like. The pink backplate can only be removed/changed by reverting to the original colour. The four versions are:
* File:Mighty slayer helmet (red).png Mighty slayer helmet (red)
* File:Mighty slayer helmet (blue).png Mighty slayer helmet (blue)
* File:Mighty slayer helmet (green).png Mighty slayer helmet (green)
* File:Mighty slayer helmet (yellow).png Mighty slayer helmet (yellow) The mighty slayer helmet can be upgraded to the tier 4 upgraded helmet, the corrupted slayer helmet, for 1000 slayer reward points and a corrupted gem, giving it slightly improved accuracy and damage and a higher requirement to wear.
- The helm can hold a maximum of 30 ferocious ring charges and 40 ring of slaying charges after purchasing the ability to attach them to the slayer helmets. The helmet is upgraded for a price, but you must pay if you want to upgrade again; therefore, if you disassemble the helmet, you must spend more points in order to upgrade it again, so it is not suggested to disassemble it. The first time you obtain a full slayer helmet, it will cost 1,100 slayer reward points to upgrade from a full slayer helmet. Every subsequent upgrade will cost 10% of the original price, meaning that re-obtaining a mighty slayer helm a second time (and onwards) will cost only 110 slayer reward points to upgrade from the full slayer helm.
