The P-wing was a starfighter used by Mario before he joined The Super Smash Brotherhood. It temporarily turned him into a flying raccoon that could whack things with its tail. It is unknown how Mario managed to turn himself into a flying raccoon, but scientists from all over the galaxy are attempting to figure out the secret behind this powerful starfighter. It was one of the last ships in the "letter-wing" series. After it they went to ships shaped like Chinese characters. The first such being the 漢-Wing. Yeah, I have no idea how that worked.

  • The P-Wing is a special power-up that only appears in certain levels. Once obtained, it grants a character unlimited flight time for one area before being wearing off. Much like the Stomp Boots, this is a power-up that only appears as needed.
  • P-Wing is an item that first appeared in Super Mario Bros. 3. It can be obtained from a treasure chest in Toad's House or from Princess Peach's letters after defeating one of the Koopalings. It grants you unlimited flight for one level as long as the player isn't hit. Once the level ends, you will still retain the powers of a basic Super Leaf.
  • The P-Wing is a downloadable kart in Mario Kart 8. It is the spiritual successor to the Wild Wing from Mario Kart Wii. As the name implies, the wing patterns can be seen in the front and sides of the kart and the power-up icon appears in the front. When the kart enters anti-gravity, the back parts of the kart jut out over the wheels. It offers good speed and weight, however, it has bad acceleration and traction. Its stats are identical to the Mach 8, Circuit Special, Sports Coupe, Gold Standard, and B Dasher.
  • The P-Wing is an item in Super Mario Bros. 3 that one can be obtain from Princess Peach after ridding a world from the Koopalings' power or from a white toad house. It enables Mario or Luigi to fly in the air for an unlimited amount of time during one level. Once the level is over, they lose the ability and only have the basic Super Leaf powers. Also, the power is lost if they are hit. If either Mario or Luigi happens to get the Tanooki Suit while still under the effect of the P-Wing, they will change into the Tanooki Suit but the P-Wing effect will still be active. In the original NES version of Super Mario Bros. 3, if you manage to complete the game and restart without hitting Reset, you can start a whole new game with multiple P-Wings as bonus power-ups.

In Super Mario 3D Land, they are found in a gold block with a P-Wing on it after losing 10 lives in a Normal Mode level. Using it will take you immediately to the end of a level.
