Durante questo incontro, Shani ha scoperto che Thaler è il capo dell'intelligence di Foltest, smascherato da uno dei suoi inetti collaboratori. La conferma di questi sospetti avverrà solo nel Capitolo III, nella missione "Un ricevimento elegante", quando incontreremo nuovamente Thaler alla festa di Declan Leuvaarden, profondamente implicato nelle faccende politiche di Temeria.
