The original cast returned to appear in five movies between 1975 and 1983, with mixed critical and commercial success. Following Star Trek V, a new series began in 1988 featuring a new cast and set eight decades in the future with a new crew for the Endeavour; this would be the premise of the series Star Trek: The Next Generation, which featured Mark Harmon as Captain Robert S. Kelly. This show ran for seven years, from 1988 until 1995, and spawned four spinoff films. Starting in 1996, there was a spinoff series called Star Trek: Voyager, which ran for four and a half seasons until 2000, when it was abruptly cancelled. In the wake of the cancellation, a film was produced in 2001 to conclude the story arc. From 2000-2002, there was an additional spinoff series starring called Endeavour, set prior to The Original Series, but its support tapered off by the third season and it was not renewed after its original contract expired. This was the only Star Trek series to not have a spinoff film made. In 2009, a reboot film featuring the cast of the original series was made, starring Tom Brady as Kirk, _____ as Pike and Adrien Brody as Spock.
