- Breeders are monsters with the ability to replicate. Unlike summoners, they can only create one type of monster (themselves), and can only create them one at a time. While all breeders create further monsters of the same species, there are two ways that such monsters can breed: either by spawning separate monsters of the same species, or actually duplicating themselves. When a monster duplicates ("The duplicates and another appears!"), its own HP is halved and the new monster is created with the same amount of HP (but the usual amount of maximum HP). When a monster spawns another ("The spawns another !"), the spawner doesn't lose any HP and the spawned monster is created with its HP at full.
- Breeder is a slang term (either joking or derogatory) used to describe heterosexuals, primarily by homosexuals. It is drawn from the fact that homosexual sexual activity does not normally lead to reproduction, whereas heterosexual sex can, with implicit mocking by connotation of animal husbandry, the original usage of the word. The use of "breeder" in this way is not new. It appears, for example, in Jonathan Swift's A Modest Proposal, in which Swift repeatedly uses "breeder" to refer to human breeding:

- "Breeders" was a pejorative name applied to a race of humans on the planet Euronda by their enemies, the Eurondans. It is known that they at least had racial phenotypes that correspond to Caucasians and African-Americans on Earth, but it was stated that they are made of "all shapes and sizes, and all colors," so it can be supposed that their population is as diverse as modern Earth's North America. Breeders possess the technology to create unmanned recon drones, as well as advanced, manned bombers. At the time of SG-1's arrival, Breeders were winning the war and controlled most of the planet.
