After the creation of the republic the CEC and the DS fought for every military contract available. Ships like the Martyr cruiser had to be refitted and updated to compete with the Delmarran Shipyards attempts to catch up. Up until the civil war the CEC held more contracts. Afterwards the Delmarran Shipyards came out with several groundbreaking designs and won the majority of government contracts. The CEC is still desprately fighting to make a comback, new ship designs are under way. Despite the loss of majority the CEC still has some of the best ships the Cassaran Military has to offer.
