Before allowing him to take her to his home, Stella decided to test how safe she was by calling Alice a "freak" while she almost calling her dad phone's. Alice reaction to this was to fall in love with her. While in the Hammond residence, she realized Alice's parents mannerisms, notably, Stella met Delaney Hammond Sr. and realized how strict the man was and how his behavior was on the verge of unstable. Alice opened to Stella, including why his family moved to Forks: Alice was raped and his father covered it up. When Hammond Sr. was on a week long trip, Alice decided to invite Stella over once again. Alice decided to show her his favorite book - which was in his bedroom - while walking through the bedroom's mess Stella tripped and fell through the solid wall of a old chimney. Stella found herself in a weird room with sourceless light, a broken leg, a book and six-sided coin.
