Linda Atkins was a teacher at the University of Washington and friend of Indiana Jones following their introduction to each other at a dig in South America. Atkins met with associates of the professor arriving from San Francisco at a Seattle airport in the late 1930's who had been asked to investigate a strange mauling in the city that mirrored a similar attack six month prior in New York. Atkins arranged for the group to stay at the Madison Hotel in BellTown.
