The song is a ballad, with Moore singing about walking away from his former lover after she has ended their relationship. As he recounts his emotions at the event, he makes the comment that "nobody knows I am crying/'Cause I'm walking the streets in the rain".

As he recounts his emotions at the event, he makes the comment that "nobody knows I am crying/'Cause I'm walking the streets in the rain". On this first participation, the Irish broadcaster did not have Moore accompanied by its own conductor. Consequently, the host conductor, Italy's Gianni Ferrio, took care of the orchestra. The song was performed fourth on the night following Spain and preceding Germany. At the close of voting, it finished in 6th place with 11 points.
